Mobilegeddon – If your Site isn’t Responsive your SEO will Suffer

April 20, 2015

Mobile Friendly Drift Advice

If you haven’t heard by now, 60% off website traffic is coming from mobile devices. This fact alone should be enough for business owners to start moving towards responsive websites. If by some chance you needed an extra push towards a responsive redesign, your sites SEO will now be effected if its not mobile friendly.

Tomorrow Google will make a rare change to its search algorithm—one that has the power to dramatically alter a site’s ranking in Google’s all-important search results. As many businesses know, one drop in the ranking could mean losing a ton of customers.  Starting tomorrow, the algorithm will reward sites with “mobile-friendly” designs and push down those which aren’t optimized for mobile viewing. “As people increasingly search on their mobile devices, we want to make sure they can find content that’s not only relevant and timely, but also easy to read and interact with on smaller mobile screens,” a Google spokesperson said.
