Moist Favorite Creative Agencies Part 11: Always Creative
4 min readAlways Creative, Always Crafting
There’s something about really good branding that makes you want to reach out and touch it.
That’s what I love about Always Creative. The Texas-based brand design studio has a way of making visual identities feel incredibly human. Their work is thoughtful and fun, but it also has this sense of history to it — like the design has been sitting around for decades, slowly getting better with age.
A lot of that comes through in their typography. Their type badges feel handcrafted and nostalgic without feeling like they’re simply trying to look vintage. There’s texture, personality, and a whole lot of detail packed into these marks.
Basically, their typography smells like worn leather.
And they’re not doing it alone.
Founder Robbie Fitzhenry has built a seriously talented team, including Jay Higginbottom, Levi Huddleston, and Philip Eggleston, whose vintage illustration and lettering work is especially good. Together, they create identities that feel considered without feeling precious.

Fancy Marks With Something to Say
One of my favorite things about Always Creative is how much meaning they can pack into a single mark.
Their logos are pretty dang fancy, but the detail isn’t just there for decoration. There’s usually some kind of story, symbolism, or visual connection hiding inside. The marks feel like little pieces of a larger world, and that makes the identities they build especially fun to look at.
There’s also something refreshing about the way they embrace detail. While so much branding has moved toward being incredibly minimal, Always Creative seems perfectly happy to let a logo have some personality. Give it some texture. Give it a little history.
And it works.

When Two Texas Icons Meet
The Homes Pizza and Lone Star collaboration might be one of my favorite examples.
For Homes Pizza’s 20th anniversary, the little Queen of Pies and the Lone Star armadillo finally got to meet. And honestly, it feels like these two characters have been waiting their whole lives for this moment.
The result is beautiful.
It’s celebratory, nostalgic, distinctly Texas, and packed with the kind of personality that makes a collaboration feel like more than two brands simply showing up next to each other. The illustration and lettering make the whole thing feel like its own little universe.
It’s the kind of branding that catches your gaze and keeps it.

Why Always Creative is a Moist Favorite
Always Creative’s work has a distinct sense of character. The identities feel crafted rather than assembled, with the kind of details that reward you for looking a little closer.
There’s a real appreciation for history, typography, illustration, and the little visual quirks that make a brand feel like it belongs somewhere. Nothing feels overly polished for the sake of being polished. It feels considered, tactile, and human.
That combination of craftsmanship and personality is what makes Always Creative such a standout. Their work has a point of view, and you can feel it in just about everything they make.
